Our Curriculum

British EYFS Curriculum with SPEA Compliance

Yellow Bee Nursery delivers the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum in full compliance with SPEA Early Childhood Education Standards. The curriculum is child-centred, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate, supporting progress across all areas of learning. Planning is based on ongoing observation and assessment, allowing staff to meet individual learning needs through active, play-based teaching that promotes exploration and critical thinking. UAE national identity, values, and culture are embedded throughout, preparing children for global citizenship.

1

Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)

Children develop independence, confidence, positive relationships, emotional regulation, empathy, and cooperation in a safe and nurturing environment.

Early literacy is developed through storytelling, phonics (Jolly Phonics), songs, rhymes, mark-making, and fine motor activities, fostering a love of reading.

4

Mathematics (M)

Children learn counting, sorting, shapes, patterns, and problem-solving through hands-on, play-based activities embedded in daily routines.

5

Understanding the World (UW)

Children explore their environment, develop curiosity, and learn about people, nature, technology, and UAE heritage, culture, and celebrations.

6

Physical Development (PD)

Daily indoor and outdoor play supports gross and fine motor skills, healthy lifestyles, hygiene, and self-care, following SPEA health and safety standards.

7

Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)

Creative activities such as art, music, movement, and imaginative play encourage self-expression, confidence, and creativity while respecting cultural values.
